Palace to learn Europa League fate by Aug. 11

Crystal Palace will find out whether they will participate in the Europa League or be relegated to the Conference League by August 11, following confirmation from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The South London club formally appealed UEFA’s decision to drop them from the Europa League, citing unfair treatment despite meeting the sporting criteria for qualification. UEFA’s move came as part of a wider reallocation process, but Palace believe the decision undermines the integrity of competition and disregards their performance in the Premier League.

CAS confirmed on Monday that it has received the appeal and will fast-track proceedings to ensure a decision is made before the start of European fixtures later this summer. The urgency of the case is driven by the need for clarity not only for Crystal Palace but also for other clubs involved in the competition.

“We’ve taken this step to protect the club’s rightful place in Europe and to stand up for fair play,” a club statement said. “We trust CAS will evaluate the situation with impartiality and urgency.”

As the August 11 deadline approaches, fans are anxiously awaiting the outcome, hoping Palace can retain their spot in the more prestigious Europa League. The ruling could have broader implications for how UEFA handles future qualification disputes.
